About the Design
The Chrysler Building is a magnificent example of Art Deco architecture, and an indispensable silhouette in the Manhattan skyline.
The building was the dream of Walter Percy Chrysler, who wanted to show the world that business was good, and that the automobile was the way of the present, and the future.
Decorated with eagles, radiator and hub caps, all inspired in the Chrysler models, make it a skyscraper with a unique style, and even though it was only able to hold the title of tallest building for a month, before the Empire State surpassed it, the Chrysler building still stands glorious at 405 Lexington Avenue and reminds New Yorkers, Americans, and the entire world, that the dream is still alive.
