Built almost half a millennia B.C the Parthenon has amazed architects until this day. Throughout history any architect who had the chance has visited the Acropolis in Athens to admire this temple dedicated to the goddess Athena.
The doric temple is not only a remarkable construction achievement of the ancient Greeks, but it also shows their deep understanding in geometry and other fields, as the whole structure was intentionally deformed to compensate for optical illusions created by the human eye.
The wooden roof did not withstand the pass of time, most of the marble columns on the other hand, still stand today, more than two millennia after they were first erected.
